Welcome to the beautiful plateau of Engstligenalp, where tradition and pleasure merge in a unique way.
Our raclette hut is more than just a place to eat – it is an experience that spoils you with delicious cheese, a cozy atmosphere and pure relaxation. So dive in and let yourself be enchanted by alpine chic and delicious cheese!

Event location in the Bernese Oberland

Whether it’s a family celebration, a company outing or a club meeting – our hut offers space for up to 80 people. Here you can enjoy authentic Swiss Raclette à discrétion. Incidentally, the raclette meal can be wonderfully combined with a hike or a leisurely walk in the picturesque surroundings.

If you would rather just have a drink, you are of course just as welcome to enjoy the cozy atmosphere in our lodge!

    Outside regular opening hours, the raclette hut can be booked exclusively for groups of 20 people or more. Flat rate CHF 300, excl. consumption.

Making raclette eating an experience

The heart – the cheese: Here everything revolves around the king of Swiss cuisine – cheese! Experience how the cheese slowly melts and turns into a delicious raclette. Our high quality regional cheese will impress even the most demanding palates with its Nature, Herb, Pepper and Paprika varieties. The raclette cheese promises a perfect taste experience with the delicious side dishes of bread, potatoes, gherkins, silver onions, diced bacon and onions!

After an active and eventful day on the Engstligenalp hiking trails, there’s nothing better than freshening up before dinner or before you leave. Modern showers and practical, lockable lockers are available on the upper floor right next to the mountain station – ideal for day guests who want to safely store their change of clothes and change before visiting the cozy raclette hut.

An experience for children

While the adults indulge in a delicious raclette, our youngest guests can get to know Globi’s exciting adventures in the Globi corner. Here you will find a selection of Globi books that invite you to browse and discover.
For children who don’t like cheese, we offer pasta Bolognese or Napoli with grated cheese. So even the youngest ones can take a little time out and enjoy their stay with us.

Frequently asked questions

  • From the mountain station, the raclette hut can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes (distance 600 meters).

  • In winter, the raclette hut is only open on a few evenings. Details can be found under opening hours. Descents take place at 19.30 and 22.00 and do not need to be reserved.

    During the summer vacations from 04.07. – 31.08.2025, the raclette hut is open Tuesdays – Sundays until 5.30 pm and on Fridays & Saturdays even until 8.30 pm. The descent with the cable car takes place at 9.00 pm.

    The raclette hut can also be opened outside regular opening hours for groups of 20 people or more. Contact our event team directly with your request: events@engstligenalp.ch.

  • Our regional cheese includes the varieties Nature, Herbs, Pepper and Paprika. Served with side dishes of bread, potatoes, cucumbers and silver onions.

    The raclette cheese is lactose-free. We offer gluten-free bread and vegan cheese by prior arrangement.

  • If you would rather just have a drink, you are of course just as welcome in our raclette hut!

  • Raclette à discrétion incl. Mineral and soft drinks cost CHF 39 for adults and CHF 24 for children (6-15 years). A portion of raclette costs CHF 14.50 (excl. drinks).

  • A table reservation is possible from 2 persons.

    Reserve table

  • The table reservation is valid for 1.5 hours. If the table is not otherwise occupied afterwards, you are of course welcome to stay longer!

  • The meal in the raclette hut can be perfectly combined with an overnight stay in our mountain hotel / chalet Wildstrubel / Sennhütte or in the sleeping igloo. Breakfast is included in our room prices.
    While you enjoy a delicious raclette in the raclette hut during the day, you can dine à la carte in the mountain hotel in the evening. In the winter season (mid-December – early April) you can also enjoy a fondue in the igloo in the evening.
