The alpine cheese dairy tour is an experience for the whole family: during the tour you will learn a lot about Swiss tradition and experience moments of pleasure. Here you will be greeted by the alpine dairyman and the alpine dairywoman themselves and led into the cozy Chucheli. While you enjoy a delicious Älpler breakfast, you can look over the shoulders of the farmers and see how cheese is made. And by the way you will discover how the nature of Engstligenalp tastes.
The experience is possible during the alpine season (approx. mid-June to the end of August) – the exact period depends on when the alpine pastures open and close. These dates will be determined in each case at short notice.
During the alpine season, you can start your day in comfort at the alpine hut. The ticket office at the valley station opens at 8:20 a.m., and the ride up to Engstligenalp departs at 8:30 a.m. From there, it’s about a 20-minute walk to the alpine cheese dairy. You can get directions and more information at the ticket office.
The tour of the alpine cheese dairy begins at 9:00 a.m. During the tour, you’ll learn fascinating facts about alpine farming and cheese-making while enjoying a delicious alpine breakfast.
A tour without an “Älpler-Zmorge” is available for groups of 10 or more (please specify “without breakfast” when booking).
We ask that you book online by 12:00 p.m. the day before at the latest, or register by phone or email.
