Active summer vacation or a break from everyday life – the Berghotel Engstligenalp welcomes its guests in front of an enchanting natural backdrop away from the big crowds. Sleeping is especially good at 2000 meters above sea level. But the Berghotel is not only a great place to sleep: you start the day with a rich breakfast. And after your day in the mountains, a refreshing drink on the sun terrace, a fine dinner in the mountain hotel or a few relaxing moments in the sauna await you – of course always with a view of the high plateau.

Just a few meters from our mountain hotel is our Sennhütte, where seven new, ultra-modern rooms in alpine chic style were built in 2023. In addition to three family rooms (5 – 7 people), there are four double rooms, which were completed at the beginning of February 2024.

About 50 meters next to the Berghotel is the Dependance Wildstrubel with a selection of different double rooms and suites, which are also perfect for several people or families. The accommodation in the Dependance Wildstrubel impresses with its modern alpine chic style – arrive, feel at home immediately and sleep well. What more could you want?

Of course, a successful vacation also includes a fine dinner or a good drop of wine. The modern restaurant serves tasty, local dishes – the selection of fine wines is just the right accompaniment.
The half-board menu, which is included in the price of the overnight stay, is served at 6:30 p.m. – vegetarian meals are also available by reservation.
Also the “Zmorge” belongs to an overnight stay in the mountain hotel of course. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10 am: You can expect a rich breakfast buffet and a selection of different coffees. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be ready for whatever a day in the mountains may bring!
Warmth, well-being and deep relaxation – in the sauna at 2000 meters above sea level you can just be. Enjoy a few quiet moments and let the unique scenery of Engstligenalp take effect on you. The sauna is open daily from 15.00 – 22.00. Hotel guests have free access (without advance booking). External guests are also welcome. If you want to relax in the sauna, please contact the reception. Sauna towels and bathrobes can also be rented there.

Hotel guests benefit from a reduced rate for the cable car ticket. For guests who book directly on our website, the cable car (Unter dem Birg – Engstligenalp, return) is included from 2 nights. Just show the booking confirmation at the ticket office of the valley station and you’re off!
Do you know it? You want to go on vacation and you need more time to find a solution for your dog than to look for a nice and suitable place of rest for yourself. With us, you can save yourself the trouble. Just take your faithful companion with you! He is transported free of charge in our mountain railroad up to the most beautiful plateau in Switzerland and is sure to enjoy sniffing over hill and dale up here. Just reserve a mountain hotel room where dogs are also allowed. We will provide your four-legged friend with a bowl and a dog blanket in the room.
