While you’re sitting in the mountain hotel’s restaurant, you can do more than just fill your belly: At the same time, you can gaze out the large panoramic windows or enjoy the view from the sun terrace and let your eyes wander across the plateau—though we doubt this view will ever truly be enough.
At lunchtime, the restaurant at the Berghotel operates as a self-service restaurant, making it ideal for a visit with the whole family. Our menu features hearty dishes such as rösti, bratwurst with fries, or Älplermakkaroni. Or how about taking a break and enjoying an Engstligenplättli or a coupe on our sun terrace?
Start your day off right and fuel up before your hike with the EngstligenZmorge at the Berghotel. Every day until 10:00 a.m., a generous all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet awaits you—in the restaurant or on the terrace with a view of the imposing Wildstrubel.
The first cable car ride departs at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast costs CHF 24 for adults and CHF 12 for children.
Tip: Breakfast is included for guests of the Berghotel. So why not spend a night on the alp and start the day relaxed?
In July and August, the restaurant at the Berghotel is also open to outside guests on Friday and Saturday evenings. When the sun disappears behind the mountains, the alp reveals its very special charm.
On these evenings, the cable car runs continuously until 6:00 p.m. In addition, a downhill ride is offered at 9:00 p.m. Starting at 5:00 p.m., you can purchase a round-trip ticket for CHF 12 at the ticket office at the valley station.
Tip for active guests: Take the hiking trail or via ferrata up to the alp, and then enjoy some delicious treats at the mountain restaurant or the raclette hut.
When the last day guests have left Engstligenalp again, a fine dinner awaits you as a hotel guest in the restaurant of the mountain hotel. Dinner is served from 18:30 – 20:00. We attach great importance to seasonality and regionality: that’s why our menus include local flowers and herbs. Please inform us before arrival if you have any food intolerances.
