While you’re sitting in the mountain hotel’s restaurant, you can do more than just fill your belly: At the same time, you can gaze out the large panoramic windows or enjoy the view from the sun terrace and let your eyes wander across the plateau—though we doubt this view will ever truly be enough.
At lunchtime, the restaurant at the Berghotel operates as a self-service restaurant, making it ideal for a visit with the whole family. Our menu features hearty dishes such as rösti, bratwurst with fries, or Älplermakkaroni. Or how about taking a break and enjoying an Engstligenplättli or a coupe on our sun terrace?
Get your day off to a good start and fortify yourself before your hike with the Engstligen breakfast at the Berghotel. A sumptuous à discrétion breakfast buffet awaits you daily from 08.45 to 10.00 a.m. – in the restaurant or on the terrace with a view of the imposing Wildstrubel.
The first cable car ride is at 08.30 am. Breakfast costs CHF 24 per adult and CHF 12 per child.
Tip: Breakfast is included for guests of the Berghotel. So why not spend a night on the alp and start the day relaxed?
In July and August, the restaurant in the Berghotel opens its doors on Friday and Saturday evenings not only for hotel guests, but also for external visitors. When the sun slowly disappears behind the mountains, the alp unfolds its very special magic.
The cable car runs continuously on these evenings until 18:00. An additional descent is offered at 9.00 pm.
When the last day guests have left Engstligenalp again, a fine dinner awaits you as a hotel guest in the restaurant of the mountain hotel. Dinner is served from 18:30 – 20:00. We attach great importance to seasonality and regionality: that’s why our menus include local flowers and herbs. Please inform us before arrival if you have any food intolerances.
