Maybe it’s the Engstligen Falls, maybe it’s the hidden rock crystals, or maybe it’s just the plateau itself. A trip to Engstligenalp is simply always spectacular – no matter how many times you’ve been here before!
Already during the ride with the cable car you catch a glimpse of the Engstligen Falls. The most beautiful waterfalls in the Bernese Oberland can also be reached on foot within 10 to 15 minutes from the valley station of the mountain railroads. There, the water thunders and foams over two cascades 600 meters into the depths. Whether a short detour or an extended tour – the waterfalls of Engstligenalp are a popular destination for hikes. During the mountain hike up to Engstligenalp through the steep rock faces you will experience the power of water particularly intensively. The numerous cascades offer unique places for resting, experiencing nature and also sporting challenges – for example, climbing.
Once at the top, however, the largest plateau in Switzerland is also enchanting. With the freely grazing cows, colorful flowering meadows and the view over the breathtaking mountain panorama, the alpine feeling is definitely not neglected up here. And by the way, from the top station, families with strollers and wheelchair users have a wonderful view of the upper part of the waterfall!
